I'm just starting the nonfiction war book Unbroken, which has been on my shelf for years. Have you read it? I love holiday music so will check out the song by Pentatonix. Thanks for the tip.

We want to see Unbroken and Wild also. I liked Unbroken better as a book but we did have a great book club discussion on WILD. I bought Redeployment for my husband for Christmas. I hope it is good, worthy of the National Book Award.

Great review Susan. I am in the middle of reading the WWI “Regeneration” trilogy by Pat Barker. It is well written and focuses mainly on the psychological effects of trench warfare. Looks as though pacifism and homosexuality are also going to become themes in the latter half of book two.
As for music, my newest holiday favorite single is “Mary did you know?” by Pentatonix. Accapella close harmony always gives me goosebumps.
