Everyone told me to read the Ender’s Game books next but I got intimidated by how many there are in the series.

He loved it and insisted I read it. I tried to read every book he got excited about and felt about this one pretty much the same way you did. It was decent but I didn’t love it. Of course, I didn’t admit that to my son.
