Yes. I did think the Gone Girl movie did a good job and followed the book quite closely. I thought it was dark, but good. Director David Fincher seemed to do a good job with the whole thing. And Pike as Amy was effectively creepy too. Thumbs up in a strange dark way.

What did you think of the movie version Gone Girl? Were you able to see the movie this weekend like planned? I did. I thought the cast did an excellent job, especially Rosamund Pike as Amy.

I haven't read or seen the movie This Is Where I Leave You. I can't say I have any interest in seeing the movie while it's out in the theaters. From your thoughts on the book, it sounds like something I would like to read.

I skimmed your post today, scared of spoilers, but I think I got the gist. Haven't read either book. Maybe I should reconsider?

I read This Is Where I Leave You the week before I saw the movie...loved both! What a great cast in the movie. I read some who thought the movie was flat, after the book, but I enjoyed every moment. I even saw the movie twice.

I read Gone Girl in 2012 and also had to check my review to refresh my memory...I even re-posted it on my An Interior Journey blog.

I was going to see the movie yesterday, but got involved in numerous chores...and even a nap!

Today, I hope!
