Hi Sarah,
Nice to hear from you. I must say: Vancouver in the summer is wonderful. The views I saw there were amazing! But the housing there is priced through the roof. I will stop by your site soon to see what you're up to. Cheers!

Oh I think you might like The Life We Bury -- it's a quick read or a great audio! Check it out Kate if you get the chance. It might make an okay movie too.

Thanks Laurel, I'd be interested to hear what you think of these books, but I'm sure you have your hands full with all the fall books. Enjoy your reading!

Hi Ti - thanks for your note. Can't believe your AC is out; Ouch! Hopefully you have a few fans? Envy you that you finished Lincoln in the Bardo --- i've been wanting to read it. I will have to see your review on it. Have a great week -- once you fix the AC that is.

The Locals sounds really good.

Those photos are lovely. I've never been to any part of Canada. I must change that soon.

My AC went out on one of the hottest weekends and during my birthday weekend which kind of ruined my long weekend. I try to see the bright side but it was really hard to do when the interior temp was 105. Still not fixed either.

I just finished Lincoln in the Bardo and I am sort of in awe over it. I loved it so much. I am reading My Absolute Darling right now and it's very good but it's a bit raw. I can see why people say it's brutal.

Tomorrow night, we are heading to a concert at the Botanical Garden. My son was given tickets so he's taking the fam. We will pack a picnic and hang out on the green.

In reply to <a href="https://www.thecuecard.com/books/locals-life-bury/#comment-6269">Judy Krueger</a>.

Hi Judy, yes it's a bit crazy worrying about library books during a disaster situation eh? (Glad you all are safe.) I haven't lost one yet, but I could see that happening. I should have noted in my review that The Locals has very high ratings on Goodreads -- higher than my review perhaps but I'm glad to have read it - just wanted to warn folks it's robust, lol. I'm glad you all chose le Carre's book -- interesting!

Thanks Carmen, I really enjoyed my trip to Vancouver. And The Life We Bury really surprised me with how good it is -- I was not expecting that. It's an enjoyable mystery & crime thriller for sure! It goes by quickly.
