Hi Catherine, thanks, yes I’m so glad I stayed with The Power. I might even revisit it in print in the future. The author sort of floored me, wow! I will definitely have to read whatever she puts out next. You’re right about the Olympics — the US team didn’t do as well as other Games for sure. Luckily there were a few bright spots like Adam Rippon and Jessie Diggins in X-country. Made it so much better to watch! Cheers.

The Olympics did have some great moments- and some really disappointing ones. After all the hype the American women didn’t do much in the skiing nor did the American men in skating. My favorite part was anything to do with Adam Rippon. I fell in love with him- especially when he basically said “Bye,boy” to the freaky Pence.

Hi Amy, yeah I was a big fan of Station Eleven — this one is also worthy but perhaps a little wilder, & out there. In some places, you have to stick with it & keep going, enjoy.

Yes Naomi, I think the Parkland kids are starting to turn the tide in getting something done on gun control. So pleased about it!! It was a cold February here in Alberta but now that March is coming I’m hopeful for a nice spring. I think The Power had a lot going on and it’s violent but also quite creative by the author & interesting. Her mentor on the book was Margaret Atwood eh?

Funny it’s been so freezing there lately. Here, it’s been warmer than usual. Which I’m not complaining about. 🙂

Let’s hope those Parkland kids can get something done that no one else has been able to!

Hmm. I’m hoping Waterbury has changed for the better since the days that this author grew up there. Interesting about the big statue – I wouldn’t have guessed that. Thx for the info, you’re my go-to on all things from Conn.
