Thanks Rebecca for stopping by. Yeah I learned a lot from The Last Days of Night too. There’s quite a bit in that novel that I didn’t know. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It’s good historical fiction.

I have not documented it, Susan. We just left for the weekend (Sat -Sun) without camera. That said, I took pretty pictures with my old smartphone, just for the pleasure of the eyes…. Hahaha…Have a great week 🙂

Thanks Naomi. You know, the Last Days of Night very slightly reminded me of Sean Michaels’s book Us Conductors. Did you read that one? It just had that feeling of inventors & that period of discovery to it. As for Fifteen Dogs, I can see where perhaps dog lovers might not feel great about the story — of these dogs dying etc., but what I liked about it was how it made me think about consciousness in a new way, which I hadn’t really thought about a lot before. It also made me think of happiness, and how humans could lighten up their lives, hmm like Prince in the story?

Good for you Carmen. You read Lincoln in the Bardo quickly and I liked your review. I wasn’t sure about the Last Days of Night at first, but midway through I started to get hooked on it. I’m getting most of my books from the Library these days and that one came off hold for me, luckily.

I haven’t seen most nominated films and the Oscars are virtually here; I have rented movies lately that I haven’t watched. On the up side, I’m reading faster, at least as I used to.

Interesting Laurel, I wonder what the public thought about Margaret & Peter at the time? Did they think they were in the wrong? Or like floozies? It was before my days but they made it seem scandalous. Ahhh. Prince Philip is another component of the series — still trying to figure him out.
