In reply to <a href="https://www.thecuecard.com/movies/pucks-and-neighbors/#comment-34005">stargazer</a>.

Hi Stargazer, I'm not sure why I missed seeing your comment from a while back ago. But I'm glad you commented about Wandering Souls and I was pleased to get to the book. I agree it made a strong impact, Anh's story in particular. It was very tragic about her parents. That part was so sad. The story seemed quite visual -- and I could picture the camps and what they went through. So in that way it was quite excellent. I could've just used less chapter jumps in perspectives ... otherwise it was strong. I will look to see what the author puts out next. thanks for recommending the book!

I am a little late to comment, but I am glad you (mostly) enjoyed Wandering Souls. It was a debut, which probably showed and I agree audiobook was not the ideal format. But I think it was interesting and emotionally impactful.

Thanks Wendy. You do sound busy with work & everything. Good to hear you saw The Nickel Boys -- I'm glad to hear your thoughts on it -- I am still looking to see it sometime. I've heard they did it a bit differently, so I'll expect it.
It's a bit sad your daughter is looking up how to become a Canadian ...b/c of things there and she's young. It's understandable. I hope she's not too stressed. Tell her she's welcome to come on a fact-finding mission/visit here, lol. We will host you both, just bring a warm jacket. At least Calif is still a blue state. Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Lux, thanks for stopping by. Yeah I guess the attack at the Munich Olympics was the first time on TV ... which must have been terrifying. I was a bit too young then but watching the movie of it was pretty scary. See what you think of A Real Pain. It had good moments though I was hoping for more about the characters. Have a happy weekend.

What a beautiful view! I wish I could say my February was flying by, but maybe it was just these last two weeks that seemed extraordinarily long for me. You've been busy with movies and reading! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the movies. I finally got to see The Nickel Boys movie based on Colson Whitehead's book. The filming choice was an interesting one. I am not sure if I entirely liked what they did with it but there were aspects I did find very well done. Wandering Souls does sound good and someday I hope to read The Woman in Cabin 10. I hope you have a great weekend, Susan. (My daughter was looking up how to become a Canadian citizen online last night--so even she's had enough. Ugh.)

I didn't realize that was the first time a terrorist attack was broadcast live. That's a powerful moment in history. A Real Pain sounds like it had some interesting moments. I've been curious about this since I saw the trailer.

Hi Ti, ha, glad you were rooting for Canada for the hockey game ... the orange pop tart makes it easy to root for Canada ... when he's acting like an ass towards the country! It was a good win.
It's good to know there's some better Ware novels than Cabin 10. It had a nice set-up but towards the end got sort of silly and a stretch. I might read her again but it won't be anytime soon. Hope all is well. Have a good week.

That hockey game. Even I was rooting for Canada after the orange pop tart kept going on and on about how the US was going to kick their butts. Sure. As if he has ever watched hockey before.

Ruth Ware. I like some of her books but The Woman in Cabin 10 wasn't one of the better ones, IMO. Too formulaic and kind of ridiculous if I am being honest.

Great thanks Carmen. I had sort of forgot about this one but I remember it received a lot of recognition. I will add it to my list too. But I will likely take a break on the theme for a while. Enjoy your reading this week.
