Mud sounds like a fantastic movie. I’m guessing that Matthew McConaughey’s performance didn’t leave an impression with you since you didn’t mention it. This is one movie I plan on watching.

Interesting that the author wrote the book while her father was dying. That makes perfect sense and it makes me even more happy that I read the book.

Now I want to read Harold Fry. Your review made me remember a very powerful book by Meredith Hall called Without a Map that I loved when I read it. About five or six years ago. It’s about a very long walk that heals a young woman after she becomes pregnant and gives up the child. It’s a memoir — and Hall got pregnant sometime in the ’60s which was a very different time. I’m not sure how a younger reader would react. I loved it.
